April 2019: GVCO Community Service Day was a huge success! Nearly 50 tires were pulled from the woods while students volunteered to clean up the property that will be the future home of the new community center.

February 2019: GVCO, represented by MacElree Harvey, Ltd., has purchased 7 acres of ground at 51 North Bacton Hill Rd., Malvern from the Great Valley School District for $959,000.00. Following subdivision approval from the East Whiteland Township, GVCO has recorded the deed and taken ownership of the property.

January 2019: Final approved subdivision plans for the Bacton Hill property were submitted for execution by the East Whiteland Township Board of Supervisors in order for recordation of the deed.

December 2018: At our most recent quarterly board meeting, the GVCO Board of Directors unanimously approved the purchase of the property on Bacton Hill Rd that will allow GVCO to move forward with settlement of the property as of January 19th, 2019 with the GVSD.

November 2018: EWT Supervisors passed a resolution approving our amended subdivision and land development plan. This was a huge milestone that will allow us to subdivide the property, record the deed and move forward with settlement with GVSD on the 7 acre parcel on Bacton Hill Rd.

November 2018: GVCO receives approval from the East Whiteland Township Board of Supervisors. 

October 2018: GVCO receives onsite sewage certification from the Chester County Health Department.

October 2018: East Whiteland Township Planning Commission unanimously recommends approval of onsite sewage system to the Board of Supervisors.

October 2018: Our new sign on Bacton Hill goes up!

September 2018: Percolation tests on the building site, overseen by the Chester County Health Department, were successful.

June 2018: GVCO approaches Chester County Industrial Development Authority about tax-exempt mortgage financing.

May 2018: East Whiteland Township contracts ARRO Consulting to engineer sewer line on Bacton Hill Rd.

April 2018: GVCO engages two local banking institutions, providing key financing documentation.

March 2018: Arcus Design and the GVCO Facilities committee completes core and shell review with alternates list.

February 2018: IMC Construction presents GVCO with project bid package.

December 2017: East Whiteland Township grants preliminary final approval to the project.

October 2017: IMC Construction puts plan out for bid.

October 2017: Arcus Design Group completes schematic design work.

September 2017: Phase I of environmental study completed.

September 2017: IMC Construction begins to develop project bid process to be completed by end of October.

August 2017: East Whiteland Township schedules preliminary final project approval resolution vote at early October Board of Supervisors meeting.

July 2017: Arcus Design begins schematic design work with proposed completion date at the end of August.

July 2017: Aqua America issues Letter of Availability to GVCO for water utility.

June 2017: GVCO selects Malvern based Arcus Design Group as architectural partner.

June 2017: Chester County based Ingram Engineering  is solicited to conduct borings on the site.

May 2017: So-Deep Inc. subsurface utility engineering completes the location of underground utilities on the site.

April 2017: JMR Engineering revises plans in accordance with NPDES review letter.

March 2017: GVCO contracts a subsurface utility engineering company to locate and document locations of utilities on the property.

January 2017: GVCO files an extension with East Whiteland Board of Supervisors for final approval to permit them time to work through the sewer issues with the proposed development.

December 5, 2016: RFP’s sent out to five local architectural firms.

October 10, 2016: NPDES Permit Application is filed with Chester County.

August 2016: East Whiteland Township officials move forward with plans to add a public sewer line down Bacton Hill Rd.

June 16, 2016: East Whiteland Township Planning Commission approved GVCO plans for proposed community center.

May 23, 2016: GVCO representatives met with Surrey Services for Seniors to begin defining a formal partnership agreement, program objectives, and communication strategies between the two organizations.

May 19, 2016: GVCO Facilities Committee attended biweekly meeting with IMC to review engineering on storm water, plan for sewer line and the strategy for sitework.  Continued development of the project timeline was also discussed.

May 9, 2016: East Whiteland Board of Supervisors approved GVCO’s conditional use application for the new community center at 51 Bacton Hill Rd.

May 3, 2016: GVCO met with a local banker to map out a plan for project financing options.

April 29, 2016: GVCO met with Harry Didonato, lead attorney from MacElree Harvey, to review the status of the project.

April 27, 2016: GVCO and JMR Engineering met with East Whiteland Township Planning Commission to review township engineer’s final comments on proposed community center plan.

April 26, 2016: GVCO Facilities Planning Committee met with IMC Construction to review building and development timeline.

April 21, 2016: GVCO campaign manager attended East Whiteland Business Partners gathering at East Whiteland Fire Company.

April 15, 2016: Andy Heindrich of Heindrich & Klein Associates is contracted to perform a traffic study for the proposed community center.

April 13, 2016: MacElree Harvey and JMR Engineering presented to the East Whiteland Township Supervisors for the conditional use approval for the proposed community center to be located on the Bacton Hill tract.

April 4, 2106: React Environmental Professional Services Group reviewed previous environmental opinions and reports to begin the process of a complete environmental due diligence.

March 28, 2016: The East Whiteland Township Zoning Hearing Board reviewed the proposed GVCO community center sketch plan provided by JMR Engineering.

March 22, 2016: Keith Walsh met with the East Whiteland Parks & Recreation to update them on the proposed GVCO community center plan.

Late March, 2016: GVCO facilities committee received proposals from two local architectural firms.

February 24, 2015: The East Whiteland Planning Commission reviewed the sketch plan for the Great Valley Community Organization, and recommended approval to the Board of Supervisors for the Conditional Use Application and also recommended approval to the Zoning Hearing Board for the Special Exception request. Both recommendations passed 6-0. (One member was absent).

December 17, 2016: GVCO presented the plot plan to the East Whiteland Township Planning Commission. The plans were received with enthusiasm.

October 19, 2015: GVCO entered an agreement of sale with the Great Valley School District for the purchase of seven acres located on Bacton Hill Road in East Whiteland Township.
